Awesome. Monkeys on the Rampage

It's going to turn into planet of the apes in india.

India’s monkeys are not behaving very much like gods these days. Normally, in many places around the country monkeys, especially rhesus macaques (Macaca mulatta), roam free in the streets and temples. They traditionally enjoy a large measure of respect and indulgence, even veneration, from the populace that stems from their association with the Hindu deityHanuman.

Write, Write, Write.

Writing 1,000 words a day is no problem. Not sure if I ever write 1,000 words on just one topic though. Maybe that's my next goal.

why I keep a notebook

I write down everything I want to remember. That way, instead of spending a lot of time trying to remember what it is I wrote down, I spend the time looking for the paper I wrote it down on.

Then I can limit my search to my notebook. Unless it's not there then I check my last notebook. If it's not there maybe I missed it in my current notebook, hmm.....

Writing Anywhere

I like writing. The way letters make pictures called words and those pictures create even bigger pictures in our minds. It's amazing really.

The DRM Wars

I see a time in the near future where people begin ridding themselves of all DRM restricted media. It would be comparable to being a vegatarian and vegan.

Ridding yourself of DRM restricted media would be like being a vegatarian. You'd buy analog or public domain. You could still use services like Netflix because you're paying for the service not ownership of the content.

Banning all proprietary content formats and only using Creative Commons media on Open Source formats wuld be like being a vegan.

Being all angry and punk rock about it would be digital sraight edge.

In a distopian future hacker gangs would release wifi viruses that destroy DRM and propriatory format devices, including phones, gaming devices and computers.

Extreme gangs would even attack people they see using devices and launch digital, physical and reputation attacks against the corporations that advance these technologies.

Corporate backed mercenaries on the other side would be just as extreme and possibly worse. They would attack Open Source, attack those that licence their content under creative commons, much like old union bosses. They may even go to the extreme of ordering personal hits against the other side.

Writing and Thinking

out w/ the old, in w/ the new moleskine

I wonder if it's the same for everyone that writing helps inspire and inform your thinking. I know thoughts lead to words and words lead to actions but it seems like action then also lead back to more thoughts. It's cyclical.   The best advice I ever got about being a writer is to just write. Start writing, write often and keep writing. If you're stumped, write.

A final collection of digital notes

This will make my third and final Posterous account (yeah right).

This particular account will be for all of the things and thoughts that don't fit on any of my 6 other blogs. I'm finding Posterous a great collection point for half baked ideas or found things. This one will be particularly raw and while not meant for public consumption.

The content here will focus on writing. My social media distopian ideas, hyku and other ideas mostly related to fiction.
